Web Design and Development

Having a website has now become an integral part of communication.

Not having a website means potentially missing out a large section of a target audience.

I have seen many websites which have been designed by those who, for one reason or another, feel hiring a professional web designer isn’t a priority. Unfortunately, the collection of skills required to incorporate the vital ingredients of web design cannot be developed overnight.

Web design is a fundamental part of any good website. Simply having a website is not enough: a website needs to be fully functional, visually appealing and engaging to visitors.

Aside from being easy to use and navigate, each of my web designs is completely unique. I never use template designs and I love to let my creativity and passion shine through.

The first design shown here was a re-design of the LD Mountain Centre ecommerce website. I worked with the company directors of LD to achieve the modern and inviting look they wanted for their site. LD Mountain Centre has a very diverse customer base, and wanted to make sure the design would not discourage different types of users. My original design is shown here, but it was modified when implemented. The current site can be seen here : www.ldmountaincentre.com

The next design is for the Pegasus Riding Centre. They wanted to showcase the work they do for disabled children in an engaging way. My original design is shown here, but the design was adapted at the request of the clients when implemented. The current site can be seen here : www.thepegasuscentre.org.uk

The next 2 designs are re-designs of the current Bibliophile Books website. They wanted the site to be moved onto the Magento ecommerce platform, so the designs reflect elements of Magento functionality. The design brief was basically something that was modern, aesthetically pleasing and easy to update. Unfortunately, Bibliophile Books decided not to go ahead with the redesign, due to costs.

The last 3 designs are possible redesigns of the Perfect Image website. This was my first project upon starting my job at Perfect Image. The brief was to create something that reflected the company ethos and showed them at the cutting edge of web technologies. They wanted to incorporate more of the company branding colours and imagery. However, the company directors decided to take the website in a different direction, and none of my designs were implemented.
