Not only can I design websites, but I can build them too!

Behind every good web design is great website code. The coding plays a crucial role in how a website looks and performs.

I learned that to work with websites, a designer needs to know how websites are put together, so that they design with development in mind.

Although I would never claim my coding knowledge is equal to an actual web developers, I can build simple websites using CSS, HTML and XHTML. I can also implement javascript/jquery effects, simple ASP and PHP.

Accessibility standards are massively important, to ensure that websites are never descriminatory to anyone. I always strive for W3C compliant code, so that anyone visiting a site I have created is certain to receive the best possible user experience.

The first website shown here was done for Seven Stars Writing Services, a small start-up business. I designed and created all branding and the website. The client had the desire for a very high-end and professional look, as well as incorporating personal tastes.

The next website is for a local charity Seb4Chuf. They organise fundraising events for the Children's Heart Unit Fund and the CF Trust. They needed a logo designed that they could use on any promotional materials, and a website that was bright, fun-looking and easy to update. I designed and built the website, and also organised training for the director of the charity, which included an instruction booklet I created for her, to ensure she could update the site easily.
I will be continuing to work with Seb4Chuf in my own time, creating posters and stationery for them.

The next website shown is for ASCA Counselling and Therapy Services. The brief was to create an interesting design that would make their content more engaging, whilst reflecting the nature of their services. I saw this project through from design to deployment.

The next website is for a local business, NE1 Construction. The brief for this project was to create a showcase website, which incorporated their current branding, with a sleek and professional look. I saw this project through from design to deployment.

The last 4 websites shown here were designed by Tent, a local graphic design company, but were built and deployed by me. All websites needed to match the PDF designs exactly, and be built with usability and accessibility in mind.
